  • I'm an Ableton user, but this video is really useful for any digital audio producer. I think EQing is one of the hardest things to master and one of the most overlooked aspects of what can push a song from decent to good.

  • Are the VST downloads expired? I'd love to download them

  • how do i narrow the arches if i have no scroll wheel? I use the logitech ball mouse

  • Awesome man!! Helpful tips! :D

  • @SeanBrennanMusic grab the circles to the right of where it say BW on the bottom right to adjust it

  • @glict You are SOO much closer than he is.. If you just didnt say cust at 160 and 300.. Boost 50hz 3db, boost 70-100db 2db, cut 400hz 5db and you got that sound with some compression... Of course these are tentative and can be adjusted per kick.

  • Don't do this to ur kicks please. They will sound like a beach ball. Boost at around 50 hz and cut at 160 hz and 300 hz to get rid of the mud. Cut again around 1.3khz and boost around 5khz. Ur kicks will sound better in the mix

  • that curve you are talking about is called Q or bandwidth

  • @nfxbeats at 3:50 you use the scroll wheel to narrow the curve. How would you do this if your using a laptop and you dont have a mouse?

  • thanks alot

  • the sound makes it seem more like a tutorial to make your kick sound more electronic than like an actual kick drum. it was still useful; i've actually wondered how people do that.

  • I agree with most of this video, aside from the that you're supposed to use subtractive EQ instead of overboosting (it adds phase delay). I'd attenuate the *other* frequencies, having the "boosted" frequencies sitting at or around 0dB. Just sayin'...
