  • Is there a way you can edit the commands that the keys perform? My computer had to be repaired and when I reinstalled Vegas the spacebar command is now "pause" instead of "stop". Can I change it back?

  • @Diamonddraw89 From the top menu line, choose 'options', 'preferences', 'general', and change 'make space bar play/pause' to 'make space bar play/stop'

  • how do you speed up all of the tracks at once?

  • @juliaroxall To speed up all the tracks, select the tracks, right click, choose 'group', then 'create new'. This locks the tracks together, so you can speed them up as one.

  • I find it very wrong that neither Kodak or Sony have made a fix to put right the sync issues with mov files.

Thanks to bill and a lot of searching I managed to eventualy get sound ... then find that the sound dont sync up .... Its crazy that conversion programmes are needed . Who wants to lose quality ? I tried a few free ones and they are rubbish .... so that has left me scared to risk buying one ..... which we should not have to do in the first place !.

  • @evsynator It's not a kodak or Sony issue, it is an issue with the mov/mp4 video format used. There isn't a required mp4/mov format standard, and each time you update itunes or quicktime, you get a new version of mov/mp4 codec which is often not backward compatible with older files. Since different companies use their own variations of mp4/mov, video editing programs have difficulty with these formats. Also they put a huge load on the CPU during decoding, which can cause the out of sync.

  • @leeofbacup That is a huge assumption that 'most sensible people know this'.

There is no user manual included with Sony Movie Studio, so how would 'sensible people' know this?

  • @leeofbacup I consider myself "sensible", and I didn`t knew this command since today...

by the way, thanks, @guerillabill , as usual...

  • @guerillabill Thank you!

  • helped heaps ily

  • Great little tip. You saved me some time again Bill. Thankyou

  • @guerillabill .... Thanks Bill. Though I still feel they could do more with patches etc. The web is full of people like us with the same issue . Other companies issue patches to their products . But it seems as if there is a fix if we are prepared to lay out even more money . A programme might only be 25 dollars - but by the time you by a PC and camera etc etc etc it adds up to a lot of money . Carry on with the good work Bill, your lessons are great and are the only ones I use and thanks again.
