U2 - A Sort of Homecoming - Mini Edge (Feat. Ernie)

Hey guys!

A Sort of Homecoming is one of my favourite songs from the unforgettable fire and one of those hidden pieces of art in the u2 discography which unfortunately, not many people know about.

This time I combined Guitar Rig 3 (for the amp emulation, tone and delay) with Boss GT-8 (chorus and reverb). Notice I added loads of reverb and chorus to the guitar to try to emulate u2's 80's ambience sound. Did the same with drums.
The bass, however, has a much more deeper sound more similar to the one used in U2's Magnificent, totally opposed to the treblish bass sound of the original live version of this song. I thought it was an interesting change which would give the song a more personal feeling.

My favorite song of all time, no doubt. Thanks for posting! I wonder if the singer knows how good he is. I'd love to see a version with my favorite verse that always seems to get left out: "And we live by the side of a road/on the side of a hill as the valley explode/dislocated, suffocated/the land grows weary of it's own"
