アリジゴクの巣穴掘り：微速度撮影 Antlion Digging Pitfall In Time-lapse

アリジゴク（ウスバカゲロウの仲間の幼虫）の飼育を開始。神社の縁の下で見つけた巣から乾いた土ごと採集。茶漉しで篩いに掛けて土を細かくし、プラスチック円筒容器（直径­8cm、高さ8cm）に半分ぐらいの深さまで入れた。アリジゴクを地表に置いてからすり鉢状の巣穴を掘る様子をwebカメラで微速度撮影してみた（3時間10分）。反時計­回りに初めは大きく次第に小さく螺旋状に後退しながら砂粒を外に跳ね飛ばし掘り進む。実はもう一匹居るのだが置いた直後に中に潜った切り地表に出てこなかった。空腹の個体­ほど大きなすり鉢を作るらしい（個体サイズには無関係）。
