A tribute to Leslie Howard, the British matinee idol of such classics as "A Free Soul", "Of Human Bongage", "The Scarlet Pimpernel", "The Petrified Forest", "Its Love I'm After", "Pygmilion", "Intermezzo", and most notably "Gone With The Wind" in the role of Ashley Wilkes.

I don't own the music or photos.

  • Which movie is it he is getting married? I wanna see it.

  • @Marlean Smilin' Through (1932)

  • Oh I just love me some Leslie Howard.

  • That's quite a comment! And a very good one in this argument, might I add. Thank you for being the first to say anything about this.

  • I am in love with Leslie. Too bad he died in that plane crash so young. His nose was absolutely beautiful.

  • @4262009AP Thank you so much for your reply. I wanna look it up. Just re-saw Pygmalion last night so I will give it a go too. =) Just re-remembered how much I love Leslie Howard.

  • Guapo muchacho.

  • Thank you, I love the music and the pictures. Leslie is one othe best actors the worls has ever seen.

  • Forgot to add I've got audio CD's of Howard on Eddie Cantor's radio programme. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me. Unfortunately as they're variety shows there's not enough Howard, but they're very interesting - especially one with a very touching scene he does with his daughter. I don't have copying equipment myself but will try to find someone who can.

  • I never would have imagined a triubute could be made that would do Leslie Howard justice ... 426, the angels are singing for you, along with nightingales in Berkely Square. Choice of stills & music couldn't be more perfect.

What a truly beautiful tribute to this sadly under-rated actor and brave soul; after being shell-shocked from two of WWI's worst battles, being willing to give his life in WWII. I just hate to think how many times I'll be watching this ... thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Thank you. This is a great vid, as is the song which is just right for L.H. Again, thanks!

  • Can anyone post the original trailer of Romeo and Juliet directed by George Cukor in 1936? Thanks.
