The battle for Berlin lasted for two weeks. Three and a half million troops from both sides, Soviet and German, took part in the fight. Some ten thousand tanks, thousands of artillery, and eleven thousand aircraft were involved in the fight. There was no other operation of that scale in World War II, and it was won by the Russians. The Red Flag was risen atop of the Reichstag in May, 1945, and it became the symbol of victory over fascism.

@fourzones Still, hindsight is always 20/20. And in the beginning, Hitler did do some good things. He restored Germany's economy, military strength, and pride, and that made him immensely popular with the Germans. He was totalitarian, but the Germans were accustomed to obeying militaristic authority without question. And extremism, both left and right, was on the rise in Europe at the time.

@Cowboyssuckcock100 Not to mention the horrors of the Final Solution that the Russians uncovered in Poland. That would have added more fuel to the Russian thirst for revenge against Hitler.

@1N73RC3P7OR You are right..the raping was out of control in the Soviet lines, especially in Rokossovsky's army , although Zukov's and Konievs armies did their fair share of rape, but this orgy of rape was fueled in great scale by the innumerable atrocities the German armies committed in Russia during the invasion and the first great German victories of Kiev and the Ukraine. In Byelorussia one out of 4 people (civilians too)were killed. Just about every russian soldier had a score to settle....

This "documentary" is Russian propaganda. While many facts are true, some important ones are not. Moreover, the Rape of Berlin, an historical fact, is completely white-washed.
