Your pendulum neo magnet...what N/S orientation are you using? Does there seem to be an optimal N/S orientation? i.e. Pendulum N facing the coils' N upward direction?
What's your thoughts?

It is hard to know exactly with a circular magnet the direct orentation of the magnet, but what I did was simply to make sure the South side of the compass was attracted to the magnet as much as possible, thus I have a North pole facing the coil.
