@newstarcadefan She got married in January of 2010, in a Hawaiian wedding, no less. She left WKBN in August of 2010 to take a job in her home state of Washington, in order for her and her husband to be closer to the family.

Well...Whitney Ward is no longer with WKBN...and I really don't know how or why.

Right...as of 5/6/10...WKBN and WYTV have their news casts in HD. also WYTV has a newer logo...however, It could be better...and a 10:00 p.m. news cast for MY-YTV again.

Yes. "First news, where your news comes first" sounds redundant.
As for the valley's first HD station, WKBN was actually the last station in the valley to broadcast DTV/HDTV. However, the newscast (unlike CBS network programming) is still SDTV. I know this area isn't big on HD, but even Cleveland's WKYC (once one of the lower-rated stations in their market) has gone HD and their productions are much more professional. It disappoints me that no one can produce a professional broadcast here.

It an upgrade for WKBN, but I wish they would dropped that 27 First News....The late 80s/early 90s they were NewsWatch 27.
They could have come up with a better moniker/slogan name..... NewsChannel 27 HD....The Valley's First Station in HD......

This is a big improvement over the 12 year old set and graphics. I wish they were more accurate with their promo ad that first claimed Feb 16. A promo for Feb 23 was run 1 day then they took that off the air.
I really hoped they would begin an HD newscast (would be the valley's first) but that didn't happen
On a side note, check out channel 33.3 and you'll see the new WKBN-style myvalleyweather graphics on WYTV. I thought the shared services agreement did not allow them to use the same graphics?

I've seen better, but this is a HUGE step-up from the previous graphics, and pretty good for market #109.

For some reason I keep wanting to hear "27 Newsfirst" rahter than "27 FirstNews"
The graphics are...okay...they remind me of KOINs GFX...exept more angular & less green...both steps up from KOIN's news ones...ugh!
