@TheMentulls Here, here! Tull without Martin is not Tull. As for these artists, Ian is known for only playing with the best he can find. A few exceptions, sure, like Jeff Hammond, but over all he tends to hire/jam with the best.
Jethro Tull is not Tull without Martin Barre!.Just seen tull in Newcastle a few weeks ago martin was rockin out and seemed to be better than he has ever been.i know the stand in guitarist is just in for this concert and a few others and he is good but in my opinion there is no Jethro Tull without Martin Barre and Ian and the band seems on form though!.
I don't really mind his singing. Yes, it's nowhere near where it used to be, but you have to remember that he's now 62 and has been in the band for over 40 years. He apparently developed throat problems due to strain when performing one of their albums in the late 70s and damaged his vocal chords. But hey, at least they are still at it. I know i'd rather see the real thing than a tribute band. If there is no Ian Anderson, there is no Jethro Tull, dodgy voice or not...
vocal cords really! i didn't know that, thanks, i think that new guitarist is a fill in for Martin Barre, i think he is playing in there next tour though.
Ian Anderson i still a god on the flute but his singing is not so great anymore. He still sounds good, but not like he used to, he puts all of his feeling into the flute and none into his singing, in his older work he put so much feeling into both that i almost went def but now its different. i just listened to aqualung on my ipod and then i listened to him sing it on here and it is very different. and i don't like the new guitarist either.
@infodisinfo Without Martin Barre, Jefferey Hammond, Barry Barlow and John Even, we have no Tull.
As for the Tull line up we see today? Only Martin and Doane have appeared on a Tull album. JTULL.DOTCOM very sad indeed.

He had problems with his vocal cords and his voice got worse unluckily.
About the guitarist: strange, I know they have still Martin Barre but in this video I see they have another guitarist (I dunno who he is) ò.ò
