Our democracy has been hijacked. Not just by greedy Republicans or by spineless democrats, but by the corporations who are pulling their strings from behind the scenes. And we have a mainstream media system in America that has remained complacent and almost welcoming to these corporate elite who control the country. But all hope is not lost -- if we continue to fight, if we continue to expose the truth, then there is a good chance that we can make changes to this corrupt system, and Mike Papantonio recently spoke with author Chris Hedges about some of the problems facing our democratic system.

there is no democracy, only an illusion to comfort the ignorant. republicrats, owned by the corporate super structure, are efficient at twisting the truth of our paradigm into a fun house mirror and selling it to us as progress and patriotism while demonizing anyone who won't stand in front of it and calling them terrorists. Revolution comes when we can no longer stand to look at ourselves in that mirror and we smash it over the heads of tyrants.

It's been this way a loooonnggg time. In the 60's "liberals" were scorned, not for being too far left but for being cop-outs. Liberals have high principals that always have to be put off for right now. They agree (supposedly) in theory but in practice they just want everybody to stfu. The Black Panthers always said to not cut contact with yr liberals because they have guilty consciences and will donate when you need it. They're not leaders.
