  • This is complete and utter nonsense. Race is NOT biological or genetic. The studies done on African Americans are actually misleading because MOST African Americans are MIXED RACE and MULTIRACIAL. Things like sickle cell are NOT black diseases, contrary to popular belief for example!

  • @chsn09 there are raced based drugs, explain that

  • @battlecatt17 That is the point. You can't assign medicine or medical studies based on race. There are actually more differences and variations found within the so called races than there are between the so called races. Also following the logic that people that are "mixed race" have certain studies and diseases that effect them, what about ethnic or cultural groups in the U.S. that are also mixed race such as African Americans, Latinos, Creoles, whites, Native Americans?

  • @chsn09 I understand what you are saying, but the reality is there are race based drugs...they are still using these guidelines which is an issue, that's why I brought up the issue of mixed in america...which are all branded as black in america...there are medical studies being done for blacks (which can be a problem, because what is black?), whites, Latino's...there is NO study being done for mixed folks which is where the problems lie...

  • @battlecatt17 and yes mixed, biracial, multiracial, multi-ethnic all cross into Latino's, Creoles and others.. medical testing as it is a problem, but if we don't bring some level of awareness folks die.

  • Wow! Just call it ABB--ANYTHING but Black!!! So sad that these people actually feel a need to completely divorce themselves from black history instead of adding their experience to its richness.

  • @Curly4a4life who said divorce themselves from being who they are...the biracial story is apart of the black story--that's not news...to define that they represent more than the black story is this story...how did you happen to miss that?

  • @chsn09 Sickle Cell is largely associated with Blacks because it's caused by the same genetic mutation that originated in Africa that protects people from Malaria. It's actually an imperfect genetic mutative form of evolutionary advancement from what I understand.

  • Thank you guys, for this wonderful work! I am Native, White and Black. Almost all people expect for interracial people, who have Black in them, to identify as African-American. I don't think that it is possible to be truly proud of my Black heritage, if I am ashamed, or otherwise evasive of my other heritages, because then I'm only sharing the part of me, I think others will like. We can't choose our heritage, it is what it is. You guys give wonderful expression to that. 1luv

  • all i can say is good luck with that. i mean trying to get ppl to not think your only black..good thing i have more important things in life to worry about..must be a insult for ppl to look at u as only being black?
