Composure - August Burns Red BASS cover

I love this Song, The lyrics are super awesome, the drumming is Sick, and the melody is so tasty!, The breakdowns are counting exercise... I love it...
One of my favorites songs in metalcore*, even thought i don't think August Burns Red fits in this genre, but whatever they are an awesome Band and Messengers is an Outstanding Album...

  • do you use your ring finger to silence the strings? I'm jus starting out and i could use a few tips

  • @Cereal1116 yeah... sometimes.. I use mostly "floating Thumb technique" for right hand muting...

  • Sounds Great dude. I play in a hardcore band and i am looking to buy a new bass because i currently have a squire P bass and when i drop it down to C# it loses so much tone.. Any suggestions on some good bass guitars for playing heavier music?

Please message me if you have any suggestions

  • @khunteman09 it's all about the setup of your bass... But any ibanez SR, SRX or EDB series would be great... I love ibanez... ESP B series are good too... or if you have money go buy a Warwick or Musicman...

  • hey, what frets are you playing during the beginning riff? I cant find good tabs. or if you have a link to a good tab, could you send me it?

  • @jakep310 i made a tab on ultimate guitar dot com ... bass tab ver 2... it's kinda hard to understand because it was the text exported version from guitar pro....

  • Bass gives the song the full sound. Kind of like the soul of the band. Makes the guitar sound better. A song sounds kind of hollow and empty without the bass.

  • trust me if you have ever played in a group it sounds great with a bass behind you

  • tab?

  • @khunteman09 It's not really the bass, but what strings you put on it.

You've probably got some pretty light strings if they're floppy at C#. Buy some heavier gauge string.

But Im sure you know this by now~

  • why you look mad??

  • You are so good.

  • so chill

  • great cover bro, but i seriously think you should've used a pick, the breakdowns would sound way better IMO

  • @AlexTheDrummer110 its preference, and completely different rhythm between the two. If a guitarist comes in and plays bass they will play more lead. If a bassist comes in and plays guitar they will play more support, like a rhythm guitarist would. So it's really if you and the drummer are comfortable being the band's backbone.

  • Sweet cover! really flowed smooth.
