Longtime Anti-Nuclear Activist John Dear Arrested 75+ Times Protesting War and Nuclear Weapons
We speak with longtime anti-nuclear activist and Jesuit priest, Father John Dear, who coordinates the annual Hiroshima Day peace vigil at Los Alamos on August 1st. Dear has been arrested more than seventy-five times for acts of civil disobedience against war and nuclear weapons, including last week while protesting the US drone warplanes at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada. He has written over twenty-five books, and his most recent book is his autobiography, A Persistent Peace. Last year, Archbishop Desmond Tutu nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
kicked out of church for preaching the doctrine of peace?? what a petty hypocritical institution that would allow this to happen...

These arrests are about as relevant as genuflection; they are another set of stupid and pointless liturgical acts. Why the extraordinarily high percentage of gay priests in a church which claims that this is an "intrinsically disordered" condition? Either someone's gaydar has been removed or there are a lot of self-delusional priests. Or there are a lot of liars in the catholic priesthood who are pretty much living sad and pitiful lives.

Return to churches and take a stand for anti-war. That is what I'm going to do. We should make more songs and hymes for it about humanity. Be a good person and break those un-spoke laws misused from holy books.
