I don't believe that when an animal dies that their soul perishes with the body. I believe that they are immortal entities as well. If the image of God is spirit, invisible and immortal, then why can't animals be in his image as well? I may be going against traditional Christian belief here, but I would like to think that beloved pets who were members of the family and passed on were more than just a fleeting being that does not deserve a place in eternity.

I really hope your right. i would like to believe the same thing. Love is a powerful thing and I know dogs feel love. There is a bible verse that says the lion will lay down with the lamb in heaven. so if lions and lambs are there why not are beloved doggies right!!

animals don't have souls, What you have just said is incredibly blasphemous and goes against a whole host of things written in Gods word, its not traditional christian belief, its direct, non inferential interpretation of words inspired by God directly immortalized in his holy word.

How do you know that for sure? Doesn't the bible say that in Heaven the Lion will lay down with the lamb. How is it that a lion and lamb could be in heaven? there is no death in heaven right? So these animals would have to have some sort of being.

I think that animals have a spirit (the Spirit of the Living God), infact they're alive, but they have no soul or consciousness. Anyway I'm sure that Heaven is a place where God's children will find everything they like (God gave us the desires of our hearts), so if we like animals we'll find them there, as we will find cakes or roller coaster or whatever we may like. The point is: will we inherit Heaven? God bless (^_^)
