Velocipede Bicycle Co-op Documentary PART 2 Emmy Award Winner

This is a documentary I made with a couple friends about Velocipede Bike Project. It won an Emmy from NATAS at the 50th National Capital Chesepeak Bay Emmy Awards.

Velocipede is a local bike co-op that works to serve and strengthen the bike community in Baltimore, MD. The documentary focuses on Velocipede as a hub for the growing community, as well as the role small communities have in progressive change. In addition to aiding the already strong bike scene, Velocipede offers a mobility to underprivileged residents of Baltimore by providing a free resource for transportation. By increasing bicycle constituency and advocacy, Velocipede plays a large role in the movement away from cars and oil dependency. Americas car culture supports and promotes oil wars, obesity, greenhouse gas production and waste. Bike communities and organizations such as Velocipede are working for a better world on all fronts and doing it by keeping the fun between their legs.

We would love to turn this into more of a feature length project. Let us know what you think of it so far!

What is great about this project is that is solves many traffic, transportation, money and health issues, but appearently only one percent of people in the United States are actually contributing to riding bicycles- but the best part about it is that that one percent can grow to huge hieghts! So why don't we get on that bicycle and dominate the streets!
