Nice flight in the Zenith Zodiac CH601XL kit airplane, including walk-around of the 100 hp Rotax 912 ULS engine installation and pre-flight inspection.

  • where do your plane painted. Me and my son just got the zodiac xl and are about to finish it but i only need to paint the body of the plane. i live near washington dc do you now a place that i can get it painted. respond as quick as possible thank you.

  • I just wish I could hear what the engines sound like on these.

  • does anyone know how to get started with something like this? And how much does it cost for lessons? how many lessons?

  • @marktheman12

That's old news now: Remember there are hundreds (maybe thousands?) of them flying. I've just finished installing the upgrades on mine (total price to install about $500). Have 450 trouble free hours TT on mine in last three years. Compared to the PiperSport, aka Sport Cruiser, my Zodiac costs less than half for what is essentially the same plane, except mine is not from Czekoslovakia. Thanks to FAA and NTSB this design is now also the most tested!

  • well see i would go with this, from flying both i find the cessna to be sluggish and even though that is roomier this has shorter take off distance and better fuel consumption

  • Simple freudian analysis. That the bigger something is, the better it is.

  • That would be a $20k "lawnmower" engine!

  • The plane is cute, but the "lawnmower" engine is a bit frightening.
