Taking the kayaks along the Avon river in eastern Victoria, Australia, as filmed on the ATC2K action cam from Oregon Scientific. We started at The Channels and paddled/dragged/shoved/hauled/pushed/swam the boats the five kilometres to Dermody's camp. Yes, there was a fair bit of portage (meaning there were quite a few rocky rapids) but the weather was perfect and the cruisey parts made up for the hard labour. The trip took three hours and we should have packed some lunch. The pink orb is a submerged balloon set as a marker while we constructed an underwater cairn. That was much harder than it sounds. Aerobic rock-lifting exercises are difficult underwater! Critters include Eastern water skink, green-eyed and red dragonfly, arrowhead rockmaster (that's the blue dragonfly with the ace name!) and Gippsland water dragon.
