An original song by Louisville singer-songwriter Andrea Davidson has been selected as a finalist in an international song contest. Davidson's composition "Natchez Trace" will be featured in this year's Tipperary Peace Convention Song Contest in Tipperary, Ireland. As one of ten finalists, Davidson would travel to Ireland for a Sunday June 5 performance at the Excel Theatre during the convention. If selected as the winner, Davidson is eligible for a €1,500 prize and convention organizers will promote her song in international media. In addition to holding a song contest, the convention annually awards the Tipperary Peace Award to leaders who have used their positions to promote peace. Previous winners of the award include Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela and Mikhail Gorbachev. The funds raised for this project would go towards travel costs to fly and stay in Tipperary, Ireland from June 2-5. Any additional funds raised would go towards getting her into a professional studio to record a catalogue of songs written with the same underlying message - peace, love forgiveness & unity
