You know... after watching Ed at the age of 11 have his left leg taken away from him in the manner that it was taken, I don't think anyone can make the "Arrow to the Knee" joke anymore.
"I used to be an alchemist just like you, but then I got my left leg ripped off by a mystical force that identified itself as God... and then I sacrificed my right arm to bond my brother's soul to a suit of armor because he lost his ENTIRE body by the same means.
Actually, I still am an alchemist. ಠ_ಠ"
