The Ocean Blue "City Traffic". This song is of the earliest material from the original line up and was a favorite at live shows. This recording(audio) was done some time around 1993 and unfortunately never used. Video is homemade(obviously).
Okay. Well, you are either going to say "I've heard it already" or "You're the man". I don't know if you are familiar with Renaissance Man by The Ocean Blue. This was actually originally written by a band called The 77s. The only version I could track down on youtube is this one:
copy and paste this into your address bar then you'll see a youtube hit come up on it:
Denon DN-790R Cassette Deck Featuring Maxell Metal Vertex
Great song.. hard to believe that this song was not on any albums.. I definitely can understand why it was not released on any of their early albums.. the song would never have fit.. But would have been perfect on Dave Jones Locker album
So good drums just can b played by Rob Minnig, the band was much better when he was in there... Peter Andreson plays good but nothing compared like Rob that gave that excat groove to the band! Come baaaccckkk pleaaasee
Wow indeed. I saw The Ocean Blue tons of times during the 90s and remember this song well...and the frustration that came with never hearing an official release of it. This is something of a musical Holy Grail for me. Thanks so much for posting this. How did you find this? And what other Ocean Blue treasures do you have?
If memory serves me correctly, I believe that this song was to be included on the "Naked in New York" soundtrack back in 93/94 as was "Listen It's Gone" and "Crash." "City Traffic" was deleted from the final cut as far as I can remember. But yes, this song was a crowd favorite for live shows during the Lau years. Kudos for getting your hands on a high-quality recording.

Oh dear lord, The swinging tassel hat clan is making a return!
I thought we sealed them within the center of the world back in '67.

Wow, great song, I saw them in 1993 in Boston, they must not have performed this because I certainly would have remembered it. Thanks for sharing!
