You do not cover a song because you want to play it better than the original, but because you love it and you want to celebrate, somehow, the inspiration the author or the song itself gave to you. From this point of view Jeff songs SHOULD be covered, because they are so great, so inspiring. When you "borrow" a song from someone else it's because you think that the author was better than you, because HE did that song, not you. Share beauty!

@Synthiotics agree with you.

I totally approve of Zebonka's opinion. Not only for us was Jeff a unique and irrepleaceable artist but also for other musicians, which is expressed in their covering his songs! Let them do it for heaven's sake O_o. Be broad-minded! If you love Jeff's music, always admired his talent and the incredible emotional quality of his voice and compositions you'll have to agree that this cover is a real peach! Thumbs up for Jasper Steverlinck as it's no doddle to cover Jeff. Cheers from Poland. Rafal

So much faint praise for such an awesome cover. I wonder if the reactions would be different if he wasn't Belgian.

he didn't totally butcher it, so I will give him props. Good job
@ Moxin667 That's so wrong, man ... true, some horrible covers have been done, but if we didn't let people cover good songs, then Buckley would never have been discovered. Almost all of his really great early stuff was him covering songs that 'shouldn't' be covered. Just have to take your chances with newcomers, I'm afraid!
Besides all that, music is supposed to be fun... just let people have their fun.

I'll have to disagree with Moxin, this was a rad cover. Much respect to a greast composition.
