It seems that the details of the Shine Cup are about to get bumped off the first page of the list of comments. If you couldn't attend Saturday's but you want to attend Sunday's, remember to check the second page to see if there's more stuff you should know.

This weekend's cup is the Shine Cup, themed on long relaxing walks on the beach. At least, that's what I think it is. All of the courses are by the seaside, and only the slowest kart and the slowest bike from each weight class are allowed.

Race #1
GCN Peach Beach
You can see right from the get-go that bikes dominate this one. Which is really odd, since Mario Heaven tends to be a lot more kart-heavy than most other groups online. I suppose there's more of a drive to win this time. A course this merciful lends to some pretty close races, and a pair of impacts at the end of the final lap sealed my place.

Race #2
DS Delfino Square
It's a foolish thing to activate a Lightning Bolt right after a Blue Shell. It causes the person struck by the Blue Shell to fall down quickly and get back up to top speed. You've got to be careful when you should activate a Lightning Bolt, or you could wind up helping some people instead. As for me, when I got a Lightning Bolt, since I was in last place, I waited for everybody to pass by that Item Box cluster but before I'd pass by. That way, whatever destructive item I would receive from them, everybody would be defenseless against it. But still, I was so close to getting a good spot in this race...

Race #3
GBA Shy Guy Beach
The Daytripper is a great kart to use in Shy Guy Beach because it has some pretty neat Offroad, and my spot in the lower positions puts me in a good spot to get Triple Mushrooms, Golden Mushrooms, and Stars that would help me take the inside path. Unfortunately, there was a particularly nasty string of people snatching up all of the Item Boxes, and I didn't get nearly as many items as I had hoped.

Race #4
Daisy Circuit
The short length of this course, combined with the lack of things that can slow you down, often means the whle race becomes a warzone, and this is no exception. Oh well. I had a feeling I would place last overall in this. I get hit a lot more when I use Manual drifting, and I figure that's because it's harder to dodge Green Shells, Bananas, and Fake Item Boxes when you're drifting.

  • Ur so stupid u did not use ur golden dash mushroom. And got lost with a thunder bolt & could of been finished if u did use it.

  • and thats why you need to use bikes to win

  • No offense but u suck at Mario kart wii

  • wtf!! is this a geek riot

  • @ShellRageVG And he waits too long to use his items. He had a golden mushroom but the lightning just took it from him. Shudda used it while he had the chance..

  • @ShellRageVG I know, I meant at first.

  • @Overhazard Dude im using it right, ive had a wii for 5 years and mario kart wii for 2.

although id oocasionally make exagerated turns, throwing the sensitivity off track, but its not hard to use, just that i prefer the GC controller better.

  • @ShellRageVG Sounds like you didn't get the scheme quite right. It's not quite like a real steering wheel, but you still need to keep your movements subtle. I noticed a lot of people trying out Mario Kart Wii wind up using the Wii Wheel wrong.
