  • The same with the brake shoes. No longer available. I owned this truck for four years. I think i made my money off of it. I bought it, for 200$, hauled a huge amount of loads. Really liked the design it reminded my of jeep yet one better, it was as tough as a jeep and yet a truck. The year my truck was 1964

  • that you pull a full loaded truck .I think a half ton , In Fourth gear and not stall the engine. the engine mind you was four a cylinder. Also under the hood on the motor was a device the would allow to prime the the fuel pump by pulling it in and out, You could sett the points with thickness of match pack cover. Also the engine did not work off an altenator , It ran off a dc generator system. which I had changed .The reason, they no longer made them. The shoes for brake pads had be relined.

  • sorry about my bad spelling. So here is some more info. the think drove like tank. When it was empty, and you took on the hyway in forth gear top speed you could get was 60 miles an hour, with pedal all the way to the floor.Sure made it hard to pass other moving traffic. Just a little scary. It also had throttle control to rebb up the engine on cold days , a choke control for gas mixture. all these manual controlled. It was made a workman truck. the clutch and gear system were so heavy duty

  • I owned a stout, some the features that found in truck. Mine had plug heating elament, that aloud quicker starting in freezing conditions. There dual point systems in the distributor. There were dual brake cylinders in the brake systems. The motor oil filter was made by Franz, which different, when tou wanted to change it you could release the cap and pull out liner and replace it with new one. The interesting thing was that filter was a real roll toilet paper, what suprises that was. I

  • NOT the first Toyota truck by a long shot, not even the first Stout actually.

Put some decent wheels on her for God's sake, lol.

  • What's with the Ford Mirrors and the Walmart Hubcaps ?????

  • Georgous little truck but those cheap plastic wheel covers have to go!

  • i have one of those. but Its almost retiring. too rusty

  • Rims and seats are obviously not stock in this one.

4-speed on the column. 1st was a granny gear and could take it up very steep hills.

Parking brake was actually a brake on the driveline. Very reliable and easy to work on.

Hauled a piano over the hills of I-5 in a '67 Stout. Used as a daily driver for eight years.

  • I'd buy one of these new if they still made them. I like it so much better than the big fat bubba trucks that are sold today.
