I am not at college (yet) but I also got to have Frank Ticheli as my guest conductor. Not for this song, but for two of his other pieces at the same concert, Angels in the Architecture and Amen! It was an amazing experience. We learned this piece in about 6-7 maybe 8 rehearsals.

@ekotar1 you know just cause you are not given the music dosent mean you cant play it....its probably their band director they make all the decisions.

shepards hey by grainger isn't that difficult, your talking some 3 1/2-4 grade pieces. what kind of school/ band are you in? i'm in a middle school and we've played 4-5 grade pieces since the beginning of this school year... and no, were not a conservatory or arts school.

We're playing this for our last concert in Symphonic band with our Band Director. She's got the hardest of the hardest music laid out. Can't wait to play it!
