Dr. Sher Shah Syed KOOHI GOTH WOMENS HOSPITAL Samreen Tariq YOURDIL

Dr. Sher Shah Syed of Koohi Goth Women's Hospital was recently In USA for Bill Clinton's Global Initiative meeting. Here he is the guest of Students for International Development, Michigan State University , East Lansing MI ( Oct 17th, 2009). He describes some of the work he does in dealing with vesicula vaginal fistulas and recto vaginal fisutlas. This socially and medically debilitating disease and its impact on Pakistani society is examined. He gives his unique look at this devastating problem in a wonans life and his efforts to alleviate this affliction. He is working to make this hospital a model in this field. He has been written about in the recent New York Times in an op ed piece by Nicholas Kristoff. As a founder of this hospital he expects to see this project to serve the poor who have little recourse to adequate medical care. @pouch54321 i dont know... but he is a social worker, philanthropist and highly highly respected person... once he appeared in a tv morning show but i cant find that interv on youtube... he, though writes short stories and i have 3 compilations of those... highlights social issues

This doctor is a friggin saint - just watched a documentary about him working in flood hit pakistan - performing surgery up to 12 hours a day in very basic conditions
