There's so many commercial stations now that they are all chasing a limited number of advertisers. That forces them to "play safe" and only broadcast songs that are familiar. If they play something unfamiliar then some listeners might switch off and the advertisers will complain either not advertising with them or negotiating a lower fee.
When commercial radio was regulated to avoid this, it was much better.

Also ABSOLUTE reflects on REAL MUSIC & no talk on reality tv, soaps or even manufactured pop
