We have a shay (on display) in Iroquois Falls Ont Canada ...... they used it as a spare(short run) in the early 70s. I'm not sure she had the same whistle.... They tore up the bush lines in the 50s which they deeply regretted later .....(oil embargo) They were going to redo the boiler for a 110 thou in 77 ......but where would we use it ? In town? somebody would complain...OK Cancel or Post

We could have used a couple of these engines to screen the entire Normandy landing.
Seriously, what is attractive about that ungodly smoke cloud? It's a huge waste of fuel and a health threat. Look into "secondary combustion" guys, or toss in less of that soft coal.
