Just as I thought we were going to finally get some sleep after a grueling trip from Bangkok to Istanbul via Egypt, and a night of shooting around Istanbul, our fixer sprung some news on us. As we were booked for an early morning flight out of Istanbul in the morning, the only window we could seek out the source of THE EVIL EYE would be after midnight that night.
We drove for about 45 mins to the outskirts of Istanbul and then got lost for another 40 mins or so. Luckily the street gangs and drunks on the side of the road were very helpful and led us down a dark alley-way off the main road (which was already out of the way).
What was waiting in the seemingly dilapidated factory / townhouse. This is where the bulk of the famous Turkish 'EVIL EYES' are made - by hand(s). Take a look!
If you're into languages, culture and pushing your minds to the limit, don't forget to swing by my language, mind-skills and travel blog - 'Behind the Curtain' at http://stujay.blogspot.com ... from ancient languages to accelerated learning techniques and deciphering codes, there's bound to be something in there that tickles your fancy.
@miregrc :) I think I could probably pass as many things.

@19fas88 Learn what sound filters are being applied to your ears / ability to render other sounds, then consciously work on changing them and build new sound movements into your muscle memory. Best way is by mimicking - find a native speaker of the language ur learning to sit with you and close their eyes while you talk - then explain to you what makes you sound like a foreigner. Do it with a few people and tackle the biggest items first.
