I'm grateful for learning about how to disable IE ESC. It is just a pain in the butt to have it on. Especially when running IE based browser macros.
One thing that I think you forgot to mention is the idle timeout for terminal services. That is it will lock your software when you close the session. I have experimented with this and in:

terminal services configuration->RDP-tcp(double click)->Sessions
I checked override user settings and set idle timeout to never. Don't know if it will help yet.
