Sardinia is very different from the tipical south of Italy, the music(very similar to irish music),the food, the language(very similar to spanish) the only region where there is no mafia culture, instead there were "banditos" which were criminals but they were against the state they fought for indipendency of Sardinia.S it's probably the most ancient piece of land in europe and is really beautiful and yes is in Italy but just "technically" if ya know wt i mean :) VISIT SARDINIA!!

@MzHakkagirl Sardinian is considered as the most conservative of all the romance languages and presents a Paleosardinian, Basque and sumerian-akkadian substratum. It has its own dialectal variants and it's much closer to Catalan and Spanish for historical reasons.
