From March 29th to March 31st 2010, it rained nonstop, dropping over 9 inches of rain in a single storm. Rivers crested at 11 feet above flood stage. Parts of Westerly were under 6 feet of water and roads were closed for days. Bridges and dams were feared to break. President Obama declared a State of Emergency, the National Guard was called in, and schools closed for 3 days. As I post this, some roads are still under 4 feet of water.
