(This is a slightly different version of the previous upload)
The song accompanying this video is based on a poem I wrote for Christmas 2005. My friend and co-worker in the Salvation Army, Anne Rich, thoughtfully transformed it into a song that is here sung by her.
Lyrics:
Sweetly he lay, this lowly babe
The most precious gift ever gave
Because of His incomprehensible love
He left His throne above
And our frail humanity, He did embrace
So that He may redeem us by His grace
He grew in utter obscurity
a son of a carpenter was He
He taught us how we should live
He showed us how our love to give
Then for you and me
He was nailed upon that tree
forsaken and alone
He died after His friends had all gone
He was buried in a borrowed grave...
this most precious gift ever gave
But Then...just when His story seemed to end
God rolled the stone away
And He walked out on Easter Day.
He lives forever
And us from His love none can sever!
Those who come to Him He will save
He is the most precious gift ever gave!
