THE YAESU FT-450 IN OPERATION.

Old National Road Pre-net starts each Saturday at or around 3965 MHz starting at 1300 UTC when check-ins are taken for the trivia show that starts at 13:30 UTC. Net control operator is KA9ILL in the state of Illinois. This was the 554th Saturday of the Old National Road Net.

The Old National Road Net commemorates the National Road (AKA Cumberland Road) which was one of the first federal roads constructed in 1811 and stretched 800 miles (1280 kilometers) from Cumberland, Maryland to Vandalia, Illinois.

  • Thanks AI4QI, i am also getting the FT450At & the MFJ969 roller inductor tuner with a G5RV Jr....hope this combination works out well....!!

  • @fishula I think it's a beautiful radio.

  • I must tell you folks, ive owned many many radios from Icoms to kenwoods, some expensive, some not so, The Yaesu ft 450 is the best radio for the money, ive put it against my 6,000 Yaesu, It has an increadable RX and TX, has built in voice recorder for contesting, the Dsp and digital noise reduction is unsurpassed, it cant be beat for a radio under 800.00. Yes Its Ugly But, Once you try it and work it, you will see its an awsome radio. you cant go wrong for the money.. I Promise.... Nick

  • do you have to go inside radio for full tx mod or can do it via menus tnx nice rig though thinking of having one.

  • good audio output on that rig - meter seems not moving up so far on tx - might be better with a more amplified microphone a bit more oooomph

  • What is a good, proper general setting for the 'width' control (how many lights should be lit)? I am a casual operator and DXer, working both CW and SSB. Also, does the 'width' control affect transmit or is it just for receive? Thanks in advance.

  • Nice video, I just bought a 450ft 4days ago :) i thinks its a great radio

  • Nice setup too,i got exactly the same outfit...works well together..i love my 450 its a great radio and dsp is superb!
