of course, but with a good education you raise your chances of a better life significantly. I personally am taking those chances quite happily :)

Many educated people are homeless and living on the street right now. I'm betting that some wish they could resort to this option!

This is a good lesson to all young people; male AND female. No matter what situation you are in, take responsibility, avoid making stupid decisions, get an education and you will be FINE in life. There will always be struggles, but you won't have to resort to a terrible means of living like Alana.

just the fact that she got pregnant at 20 years old with a loser who lives with mommy and doesn't care about anything but himself is sad. She's a year and a half older than me. I really hope she uses this to educate other young girls and help them to stop prostituting. She's beautiful and i know she loves her baby.

I did live in the U.S before, by my self so I know the living cost and how to handle it. I'm a overseas student so voila, I'm quite independent... To tell you the truth, my family supports me everything if I need but I just decided to work.. My point is... as long as you are willing to, there's always the way to go.... Just my 2 cents....

I do understand but to be honest I have tried to work 2 jobs at once and if both of them don't pay well its still hard to live... My house hold has 2 sources of income and still things are a daily struggle. I don't work hard for myself I work hard so that my children will have a better life. Where I'm from that includes sending them to better school and that's not free. We don't live above our means. We just live and I would have to work 3 jobs and so would my spouse if we only made $7.15 hr

I am so sorry to hear so... I don't mean anything.. But I remember if I work over the limited time per week, they have to pay 1.5 times the usual salary per hour... Maybe we have different lifestyles so that would matter about how much we earn I think. I'm single and a senior student so I don't expect much to have lots of money, to be honest.... And my life is quite modest but I think it's enough...
Anw, to each his own... right :)

I know that you didn't mean anything by that :-). Most of the companies in the U.S. have done away with overtime. It use to be the source that my husband used when we needed extra money for things. Now he can't get overtime at all. I can't complain we both still have jobs and a home. But its getting harder and harder to afford little things like gas and grocery's. We never go out dinner anymore... We do go to the movies but only once a month and early in the day when the tickets are cheap.
