"Dance at the Stone House" performed by Louise Reichlin & Dancers is a site specific work that uses audience participation to design a dance work based on the unusual architecture and art that is the Sun Valley Youth Arts Center in Sun Valley, CA. It was most recently performed on Nov. 18, 2009 with our 5 dancers + 60-80 who were both audience and participants. For a review on that performance, go to http://danceinla.blogspot.com/2009/11/everybody-dance-at-stone-house.html
The original version of the work was performed in October 2007. The first segment of The Reality Series, this piece focuses on the unique architecture and children's art that is part of the historic 1925 building that houses the Sun Valley Youth Arts Center. The interactive performance took place on the outside patio with audiences on the lawn and inside the building. 60 students participated in each performance. Original photos by Chuy Rangel, Steve Sobalvarro, and Louise Reichlin.
