福島県会津地方に伝わる郷土玩具「起き上がり小法師」は何度倒しても起き上がることで縁起物として知られています。
東日本大震災と福島原発事故の被害を受けた方々が、悲しみを乗り越え立ち直る姿を起き上がり小法師に見立て、このアニメを作りましたので被災者の方々に贈ります。救済はも­っと辛い思いをしている人へと願って、自らは福島の避難勧告地域に留まっている方々も大勢います。私の家族もそうした人々の一部です。敬意を表しながらも心配せずにはいら­れません。
原発の膨大な高レベル放射性廃棄物生産のみならず、大量破壊兵器製造を続けている現在No more Hiroshima and Nagasaki の祈りは届いていません。
脱原発と核廃絶、そして自然エネルギーを未来の子供達に。

"Okiagari-Koboshi" is a traditional toy from the city of Aizu in Fukushima.
The toy is made from paper with a weight on the bottom which causes it to return to an upright position when it is knocked over. These represent the people affected by the great earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear disaster in Japan 11th March, 2011
I dedicate this film to people who keep pressing forward regardless of the circumstances they face.
Even though I worry the health and safety of my family and all people affected, I hope I can at least bring some smile to them.
Not only are the Nuclear power plants creating tons and tons of high level of radioactive wastes, there is also the fear of the development of weapons of mass destruction. The message of "No more Hiroshima and Nagasaki" is being ignored.
Let's act now to reduce and eliminate nuclear plants and weapons completely and give a renewable natural energy for children in the future.


The music was created by a friend of mine Melanie Shanahan who was a talented, bright and beautiful young lady.
She took her own life after suffering from depression 8 years ago.
We all miss her deeply.
I'm also working on an animation for "Beyond Blue" dedicated to Melanie and all who suffer from depression.
