Personally, If the CGI is done right I like CGI werewolves. I can also appreciate some really well done special effects makeup and costume as well.

The werewolf in An American Werewolf in London(1:33) will probably never be topped, that creature is just fright incarnate, like a huge rabid dog from hell. Not a single cgi-wizard has been able to create a more terrifying werewolf than that to date.
