Hi DenversKMan. I grew up in Springfield also. I agree - the club/local music scene was first rate back then. Clean Living, of course, along with Fat, Bear Mountain, Firewater, and many more excellent area bands. Best of all, it was safe. You could get wasted and not have to worry about getting beaten up or stabbed. My wife works with Peter Newland from Fat. She tells me that Fat still performs together a few times a year. Peter still plays locally with Radio Xile.

My uncle Don Allen was a good friend of Paul Lambert, the petal steel guitar player, and took lessons from him. I've still got this album and yes, it still sounds great. The group deserved more attention.

I grew up in Springfield mass and saw them all the time and a band called Fat used to go to the 5th Alarm in Springfield and Vins Gym

Such great memories of them playing at the Nail in Sunderland, back in 1974.....I say, how 'bout a reunion? Your music still sounds great today and I've got it on my iPod.....thank you for the great music.

According to Orpheus leader Bruce Arnold, Elliot Sherman left the band to run a small antique shop with his wife. He later moved to New Orleans to pursue his dream of becoming a "boogie woogie" pianist. He resurfaced again in 1988 to perform with Arnold and a reunited Orpheus at The Boston Music Awards. Several tracks on Arnold's "Orpheus Again" CD (available through CDBaby) feature Elliot as well as other original Orpheus members like Howard Hersh and Bernard Purdie.

Why wasn't Elliot Sherman on this second release? He was fantastic on the first Clean Living album.
