I've never broken that verse down before, it was actually my least favourite song on the Album. So thank you Common for doing this. This is simply poetry, it's intellectualism, it's beauty, it's a verse about growing up in place you or me would never understand.

Any asshole who mentions J-cole name needs to be shot. I'm tired of you faggots, ur just like Eminem fans. I'm going to say this clearly, J-cole is not on the same level as Nas or AZ. He is lyrically inferior to them in every aspect. Nas's worst album, Nastrodumas is better than J-coles album. I heard J-coles album and I was unimpressed by it, he would not have had a career in the 90's when lyrics mattered. Nas music will live on, J-cole will be forgotten in two years.
