Lancaster Bible College broke ground on the Student Learning Commons in February 2011. Set to be complete in the fall of 2012, the facility will become the ultimate gathering place for our students to study, collaborate, or relax. The core of the Student Learning Commons (SLC) will be the Charlie and Gloria Jones Library, housing a collection of over 200,000 books. The SLC will also have conference rooms, classrooms, computer labs, and study areas. The upstairs of the SLC will house tutoring and academic mentoring resources, such as the Reaching Academic Potential Center and the writing center. Focusing on stewardship of Lancaster Bible College resources and environment, the new structure utilizes green, or environmentally sustainable, principles and will seek to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified. This video shows the construction progress of this project from ground breaking through mid-December 2011.
