@azkeyz It may be cheap, but the thinking processes behind designing the circuits are exponential. The prices are perfectly justified.

And an interesting thing abotu the wafers, they are responsible for low technology costs, but certain wafers (larger and more complicated) can be valued in the thousands of dollars range or more.

Yes, you are correct. it was a mispronounciation on the narrators part which I failed to catch. It should have been Sili-CON. As for the wafers, it general, the expensive ones are used in lesser cases, and for the sake of the poem, we lean towards that. I didn't want to make the children's heads explode.
