PROJECT OVERVIEW:
"The Purpose"
The "Our Time Has Come" or "OTHC" TOUR is not just a "PIECE OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION" it is a "PEACE OF MIND MOVEMENT" to Entertain and Educate our audiences in large theatres as well as in small forums. "OTHC" goal is to team with national groups and organizations to REGISTER One-Hundred Thousand Americans to vote for the upcoming 2012 general election. We will host COLLEGE TOWN HALL MEETINGS on college campuses to Discuss, Debate and Deliberate on the significance on voting, and the voting process as a whole.
"The Performance"
OTHC is a story of a former slave's prophecy that his descendants would one day rise above the manacles of slavery to the pinnacle of society! Alexander Chambers INSTILLED the prophecy to his son, Isaiah Chambers, who UNVEILED the prophecy to his son, Solomon Chambers, who FULFILLED the prophecy, so that his daughter, Michelle Chambers, would REVEAL that prophecy to the world!
Solomon Chambers was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1940. His parents and his uncle moved to Michigan from Mississippi years earlier, hoping to escape the smoldering racism of their home state. Solomon defies the odds of poverty and discrimination and eventually becomes a lawyer, and when his uncle is murdered in Mississippi he serves as a witness for the prosecution-and has his first brush with the reality of racism. Solomon becomes an attorney, turn senator, and then, in the year 2008, he eventually becomes president of the United States of America!
"The Prophecy"
OTHC is a fictional tale written in the year 2001, years before our 44th president was a nationally known political figure. This is the original storyline before it was revised by the playwright, Sylvester Stephens, who believed the actuality of a Black man becoming president of the United States by the year, 2008, was implausible. However, history proved differently. As you will observe, some of the events in this dramatic piece eerily paralleled the true life events of our would-be president, Barack Obama.
