Antarctica 2009: Spring in Punta Arenas (Webisode 3)

On Monday, Oct. 19, the third flight of NASA's Operation Ice Bridge over Antarctica was just about to take off to map Pine Island Glacier. Then "spring" arrived in Punta Arenas.

I have been flying DC8s a long time. If the snow flurries in your vidoe scrubbed a flight to Antartica then something is seriously wrong.

Beautiful! Great job! I would love to go there, but a scientific grant in my field would be slim to none. And slim just left town.

Nice video Steve, hope to see some some video's from flight days soon. I live in Holland, just below sea level so it's good to know that you are keeping a lookout on all that ice out there so we might keep our feet dry in the future.
