  • I love PBS .. and it was preschool for me! Thank you PBS!

  • Fact is Federal & State funding has benefited the private sector. All across the CATV channels there are program ms in genres that wouldn't exist if PBS hadn't created them, broadcast TV hasn't created anything new for decades.

  • I agree that PBS was great when I was a kid. But PBS probably considers average Americans to be a bunch of superstitious idiots who continue to believe in God, and the programming teaches evolution as if all scientist agree that it explains man's origin. PBS and the American populace have irreconcilable differences. Let's get a divorce.

  • I can't believe some of the comments on this video (the ones that are insulting).I watched a lot of PBS Kids as a child, I will occasionally watch a bit of Antiques Roadshow with my dad, and I loved the documentary about the history of the Warner Brothers studio.I don't know what I'd have been like growing up without PBS and definitely don't want to see it go...

  • And how much do you make, Paula? Oh that's right. You're not willing to talk about your $636,000 salary.

  • How much money does this progressive liberal make. Maybe she should give some of her income to the organization for the public indoctrination with socialist views. I can't wait for congress to cut their funding, I'm tired of paying the socialist to run their mouths on our public air waves.

  • IMHO, it borders on criminal. Our government will throw billions of our tax dollars into bailouts for grossly mismanaged financial institutions and businesses, (not to mention wars we have no business being in at all), and to compensate, they cut spending for a communication system as absolutely VITAL and long established as PBS? No! It's not acceptable. Not at all!

  • PBS needs to be more self supportive and all along there should have been.

NET, the predisessor to PBS I don't believe got any govornment support.

  • Yes, as the divinely enlightened crowds who yearn so desperately to return to the 1700s say, we don't need these liberal controlled, wealfare type institutions. All we need are genuine institutions like Fox news & other selective cable run media by Joe the Plumber types, who have true scientific & divine knowledge of how to stay moral & true to the Lord creator! Defund these aweful, wasteful, political, and homosexual loving institutions like PBS, EPA, FDA, NASA, CDC, NIH, etc.

  • PBS should have steered clear of becoming involved in politics. DEFUND.

  • support PBS - its good value for money.
