A WIP of DukDuk using the GLSL shaders and realtime shadows available in the latest blender game engine. I almost started from scratch.

  • I made the game with no coding skills. It was all done within Blender. You can export it as a desktop game external to blender and there are developments underway to export it to Ipad and Iphone too but they are in early development. Look at unity3d as well.

  • Well, over four weeks, every night pretty much for threeish hours, but then more time before the holidays.. It's really hard to say, particularly as it was a while ago now. And i was learning as i went so there was a lot of R&D and mistakes.

  • did you use blender for all of the modelling?

  • Mostly. I do own Max and defaulted to it as I was more comfortable with its tool set when I made this game.

  • The art style reminds me of platformer games like psychonauts (especially the background amazing achievement on the whole thing.) I'm starting to use Blender and if It is possible to single handily achieve something like this then its worth learning. Incredible job.

  • Reminds me of Tak and the power of Juju.

  • Did you make all the textures in the game, because if you didn't it sounds like you could legally sell that game!

  • Hey, I was wondering if you recommend blender for a long action adventure platforming game. I'm new to game designing so i don't know anything but, I want to learn a lot and make it my job. With blender do you have to play it on blender or can you turn it into a desktop game? My computer specs aren't the best so could i make long games without it crashing? Do i need to know coding and scripting to have graphics like in this video? Finally, how do i make a title screen and the bar at the bottom?

  • Great work im not so good at using blender :( but im trying 2 learn. I c that in the V2 the graphics have been improved ! Very nice ! keep it up

  • Is this in the Blender Game Engine? I never thought it could do something like this, and how did you get the textures to look so good?

  • how do u make the texture maps?

  • Rated E -Comic Mischief?

  • did you do any python scripting?
