Man thats tight! I've been trying to get my sweeps clean, but I can't do it without risking to palmmute the notes.
-
@Blitzbok use the fretting hand.
-
@jani14jani that's the way i do it. given, I'm JUST now getting it, but ... palm muting doesn't help me at all.
-
I'm havimg trouble muting the G string. Particularly on shapes like the Am three string arpeggio starting on the 14th fret when descending, any ideas how to deal with this?
-
@zakkrandydimshrd Hell yeah, Paul Gilbert is a beast.

The best way is the way that feels the most comfortable to the player.
Michael angelo batio( he is the cleanest player ever) mutes with his Fretboard hand, Do you know he does that?

I've seen cleaner players than Batio. I don't know how he does it

Cleaner than batio O.o? That is immbosible.

No you just have to be less close minded about guitarists. Micheal Romeo is cleaner, Paul Gilbert is cleaner and much more creative of a player than Batio, to name a few

I'm pretty sure the best way is to thumb mute.
Look at Tom Hess, Mike Phillippov, and Zack Uidl..
