I know it's 4 years later. I think you did a terrific job on this song. I like your virile voice and the way you used it here. You may have noticed from all these comments that everyone thinks they know how another person's voice should work. You stayed true to your voice in this video and the results were exciting. I hope you have kept going in this direction. I am a large voiced tenor and hearing you sing this piece makes me much more interested in the song. Congratulations

for 16 this is not bad at all. Some of the comments I think are a little harsh. I'm glad to hear you would sing this different now. I would love to see you post something new so I could hear you now and hear how you have progressed. The male voice doesn't truly mature until into your 30's anyway so don't push it just yet. Singing like this at 16 and yes, it does sound a bit like shouting, but, comeon...16 people.

Well... my voice back then is not what it is now. I would sing this a lot differently now.

I know i am a singer myself, and i still am doing my training as well, i was just sayin the style for the song would be for a different voice then the one being presented for the best performance of the song, im sure there are other songs that are best suited for this voice type.

lot's of potentials to be a great tenor.. Keep it up.... Practice correctly.

Dude: there is the possibility of music in your voice. BUT....you must get inside the words so that you can sing what the author intended. You have trampled, shouting, through one of the profoundest prayers of the human soul, a prayer for healing. And unless you yearn, in your heart of hearts, for the world to be healed, you cannot achieve this song. Listen to Nathan Gunn's recording of this song.

hmm. nice voice, but he doesn't make music with the piano....he sings for himself. and hmm. I miss the atmosphere...a sad, romantic one...but nice voice.

yea. I'm actually very energetic and express a lot of emotion. perhaps too much. This was just a video audition that I had to make at around 8 in the morning. Although I shouldn't look at it this way but i was more concerned with how i sounded over how i looked. I know... both are very important. but thank you for the feedback.
dude....definitly to much for this song...not ment to be shouted!

Surely, this isn't perfect but I'm still just a young singer who is still learning a lot. I was 16 when I made this and I'm 19 now. I'm a lot further in my training now than I was then. I'm guilty of the same thing, but everyone expects so much from singers when they should understand that they are no where near perfect and are learning. I'm gonna leave it on that note.

Other than the lack of expression on your face, I thought this was great. Though to my ears, you definitely sound more like a baritone than a tenor.

Haha... yea. People have told me about the facial expressions. I'm normally very animated but eh... I'm a tenor with a dark tone. Believe me, I only have lows notes when I wake up in the morning. lol

Haha...ok, fair enough. You could have been nervous or just tired...or something. And to me, it sounded like your range in general didn't go that high for a tenor (maybe a tenor II?), but you did a wonderful job of performing the piece, keep up the good work!

I sing tenor 2 in my school choir but only because there are so many tenor 1's and i don't feel the need to sing so high in choir when I could save my voice for other things. I'm a member of the Collegiate Chorale and I sing tenor 1. On a good day, I have high C's and I've hit D's on really good ones. lmao
