I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down: Chapter 26 Part 3 - A Jonas Story

That night, sitting in the dressing room, just before their performance, Kevin decides to call Lisa
"Hey, You!" He smiles when he hears her voice "Hey! Just thought I'd see how things are going?"
Lisa sighs "Fine, Oh I've got a studio job for a few days this week. " "Really That's great. I'll have to tell the guys." "So how's the weather?" "Beautiful sunny and warm" "How's the family?" "Great, Frankie want to meet you." "Really, you told him about me?" Kevin blushes "Yeah, a little, Mom wants to meet you too." Lisa begins to panic a little "S-she does? What did you tell her?" There is a knock on the dressing room door, Kevin looks over at the door as someone pops their head in and says "Five minutes." he nods at them and then returns to the phone call "Sorry Li, I've gotta go, Show time, but before I go. Have you heard from Joe at all over the last couple of days?" Lisa surprised by the question answers "No, why should I have" Kevin shakes his head "No, he was just texting a lot and I thought maybe." Lisa shrugs "Well it wasn't to me." Another knock on the door, Kevin stands up "I really gotta go I'll talk to you later. Okay" Lisa replies a little upset "Have a good show, Bye" "Bye" He pushes end call and sets his phone down on the counter as Nick yells in the door "Kev Come On, Show Time!"

On the third evening Kevin and Nick were heading down for dinner, in the elevator, when the doors open they come face to face with Caitlyn and Jessica, as if they knew the guys would be there. "Hi! Guys, You ready for dinner?" "Um...Hi!...yeah!" Kevin says in akwardly. "Yeah, we'e meeting our friends." Nick adds as he tries to walk towards the restaurant. "Oh, that's great! Who else is going to be there?" Caitlyn exclaims following them and wrapping her arm around Kevin's arm. He gently removes her hand from his arm and says to her "Look Caitlyn, I'm Sorry, it's great that you're a fan and all...I don't want you to get the wrong impression... I'm not interested in dating you." She looks at him hurt "But we're going to dinner. Joe said..." a tear slips from her eye. Kevin stops and glares at her "Joe?... What did Joe say?" she looks down at her feet "...he said you really liked me and wanted me to come for dinner tonight." "When did he say this?" Kevin inquires. "Yesterday! He said that I should be more forward because you were to shy to ask me yourself. And he told us to meet you here." Kevin looks over at Nick and exclaims "I Don't Believe Him." He storms off towards the restaurant. Nick looks at the two girls and apologizes "Look, Sorry, Joe shouldn't have said those things...it's...um...it's just really complicated...sorry!" The girls gaze at him disappointedly as they watch him hurry away after Kevin. Nick shakes his head "Joe, what are you doing?" he whispers to himself.

Kevin storms into the restaurant he walks up behind Joe and grabs his shoulder, squeezing hard into the soft flesh between the bone "I Don't Believe You!" He says through gritted teeth into Joe's ear. Joe winces "Owww...Kev...What's your problem(Kevin tightens his grip) ....Owww...let go, Dude!" Denise looks over from the other end of the long table "What's Going on? Why are you two fighting?" Kevin releases Joe's shoulder and smacks the back of his head. "Joseph here, has been telling some girl that I like her and that is why she's been following me around. All Weekend." Denise looks at Joe sternly "Joseph, have you?" Joe looks up at his mother and stutters "W-well...um...I-I.." Kevin interrupt him "He's just jealous that Lisa and I have a connection." "Am Not!" Nick comes up and shakes his head "Joe, don't lie, you are and you need to get over it." Denise scolds "Well it's going to stop, No more fighting, you understand me." Kevin and Joe say in unison "Yes, Mom!" Denise nods and everyone sits down to dinner. Kevin sneering at Joe all though the meal.
