A Whole Night On Paranal Timelapse [720p]

This timelapse movie shows a whole night on Paranal, from sunset to sunrise. The very wide field-of-view reveals the beauty of the southern Milky Way, visible as a whitish nebulosity crossing the sky. The yellow Laser Guide Star is seen in action several times.

@moviemasterxz - Yes, the video description mentions the laser (thanks for reading). ;-) Many observatories use laser beams to create an artificial "star" that is used to determine turbulence in the atmosphere. This turbulence is then subtracted out of observations in real-time to create images much clearer and sharper than would normally be obtained.

And of course, the lack of a South Star is noticable -- That little fact causing the southern hemisphere homosapians to fall behind their brethern of the northern hemisphere.
