@moviemasterxz - Yes, the video description mentions the laser (thanks for reading). ;-) Many observatories use laser beams to create an artificial "star" that is used to determine turbulence in the atmosphere. This turbulence is then subtracted out of observations in real-time to create images much clearer and sharper than would normally be obtained.
