No, the original version was written by Yukihiro Takashi and Ryuichi Sakamoto with lyrics by Chris Mosdell. Jackson wrote some additional lyrics for it some years later.

Indeed. I have read that Hosono (the bassist), loved the Jupiter 8. I wouldn't be surprised if it's on their later material, '81 onwards. Too bad there isn't much concrete information (or books) of YMO gear outside of Japan.

Indeed. Although back then it seems to me it was easier to maintain analog synths...I guess there were plenty of techs around on call, unlike nowadays I guess. YMO would tour all over the world with a couple of modular Moogs, a Polymoog, a couple of P5's, some ARP's, and even the Prophet T8 (among others) without a hitch.

@Artstar OOOOH!!! The Polymoog is Gary Numan's trademark synth as well!! I would kill for one but I bet it would be a bitch to maintain and/or restore....
